Using a microphone on Mac with KaraFun lets you sing with live voice input, adjust levels, and add effects for a more immersive karaoke experience. With microphone support built into macOS, you can easily set up your mic and enjoy enhanced performances on your computer.
- Connect a sound card to your Mac (typically via USBC, USBA or an adapter)
- Connect your microphone the sound card.
- Open SERVICENAME, go to the settings, then "audio interface".
- Activate the inputs and select the input you want to use (depending on how your microphone is plugged in) then close the settings.
- Next to the player, click on the audio settings button
- Adjust the microphone volume to your preference and enable and tweak vocal effects if needed
Note: Even with a microphone connected, KaraFun only plays your voice through the speakers in real time, recording your voice is not currenlty possible.
Tips
- Keep macOS updated to ensure microphone drivers and compatibility remain up to date.
- Always double-check the Input tab in System Settings > Sound to confirm your mic is active.
- We recommend using a cabled microphone over Bluetooth to avoid any potential delay.
- Some microphones may not be fully compatible, test with another model if issues persist.
- For more consistent levels, consider a compact third-party mixing board between the mic and your device.
